To all of my Fire Corn supporters: Fire Corn on Amazon is sold out!
I am suspending sales of Fire Corn on Amazon. Since that is the only point of online sales right now, I am therefore suspending operations of Fire Corn Popcorn LLC. Puget Sound fans have a limited opportunity to purchase Fire Corn at the Heritage Flight Museum (www.heritageflight.org).
I am very proud of having produced a very successful product and the beginnings of a successful brand and will keep Fire Corn Popcorn LLC alive hoping to find a more financially successful sales channel. Or maybe a more financially effective formula on Amazon. Amazon is an incredible platform that gave me instant national distribution but as I tell people, it is like renting the Cadillac Escalade while on a family vacation. The one major item of expense that I did not anticipate effectively was the cost of the pay-per-click advertising. A necessary function whose cost kept me well below the profitability line.
If Fire Corn was the only thing I was doing, then I would press on and try to more effectively optimize the Amazon sales channel. But it is one of many irons in the fire for this aging fighter pilot. I need to continue to run the Heritage Flight Museum, fly for Air Combat Command’s Heritage Flight Demo Team, and be present for my family. Oh and there is one other “project” I am working on: beating prostate cancer. My current protocols are effective but sap me of the energy I need to get it all done. So wisdom says pull an iron or two from the fire. Fire Corn is one of the ones I am pulling.
To all of my Fighter sisters and brothers, there is at least a 15% higher rate of cancer in our community. I believe my prostate cancer is directly attributable to sitting 6’ behind that amazing APG-70 radar. Please follow cancer screening protocols consistently. Annual PSA checks saved my life. Let screening save yours.
I hope to bring Fire Corn back but there is no time line for that right now. I will let you know when there is.
